Children of Kaira

Children of Kaira is a cozy pixel strategy game where you command the Children of Kaira across hostile island worlds, build settlements, train warbands, and resist Erlik-backed rival tribes.

Target platform: PC first, with Steam planned.

Overview

A small tribe, a rotating island, and a whole war to survive.

A crashed ship becomes your capital village. From there, you box-select units, send villagers to build, rally troops from production buildings, capture ruins, fortify borders, and push across planets one island at a time.

The pivot is manual strategy: every order matters, but the scale stays readable. Villagers, heavies, artillery, slingers, priests, and shamans give each push a different texture while Kaira's clean heavenly power clashes with Erlik's brutal war machines.

01

Direct squad control

Select units, issue move and attack orders, set rally points, and decide when to automate or personally command a push.

02

Build the frontier

Turn homesteads into a settlement network with barracks, workshops, temples, hunter's lodges, and defensive towers.

03

Kaira against Erlik

Priests gather heavenly knowledge, unlock finite spells, and pull the campaign into a mythic proxy war between two powers.

Core loop

Build, command, convert, launch again.

  • Start from a capital village built out of crashed ship wreckage.
  • Send villagers to construct homesteads, production buildings, and towers.
  • Train heavies, artillery, slingers, priests, shamans, and militia through building queues.
  • Use priests to collect Knowledge from Heavens, heal allies, convert enemies, and work with totems.
  • Clear guarded routes, contest neutral ruins, and decide when a fight is worth the map position.
  • Survive rival tribes backed by Erlik while Kaira's tools reshape the campaign.
  • Win the island, launch onward, and carry the tribe deeper across the planet route.
